Overview

South Elkhorn is a historic community located in Fayette County, Kentucky. It is situated along South Elkhorn Creek at Harrodsburg Road (US 68) and Higbee Mill Road. Now absorbed by the city of Lexington, South Elkhorn was once a distinct community with its own post office and the site of the first grist mill in the county, established in 1783.<ref name="kyatlas">Template:Cite web</ref>
